Can I Wear Makeup After the Procedure? (Eyelash Extension Aftercare)
You can definitely wear makeup after your session. If you can’t bear without wearing any makeup, make sure to avoid the eye area. Carefully apply foundation, concealer or lipstick without touching any of the eye areas because it will be very sensitive after the procedure.
It is best to rest your eye area from any products and you’re definitely not supposed to get them wet around 24 hours after the extensions are attached.
You are allowed to wear eye makeup after the 24-hour rest as long as it’s oil-free.
Can I Wear Mascara with Eyelash Extensions?
With the right eyelash extensions, you don’t need to use mascara!
The purpose of eyelash extensions is to allow you to ditch your other eye makeup procedures like putting eyeliner, mascara and lash curler which saves you a lot of time. But if you feel you need to apply, make sure to use oil-free, water-based mascara. Put the product to the very tips of your eyelashes, use ONLY one coat and avoid the roots.
Remember to clean your eyes with a cotton tip and an eye makeup remover that doesn’t contain any oil.

Maintaining Your Eyelash Extensions
You need to be more careful now that your eyelashes have extensions because they cost you and you want to be able to extend their life span as much as you can. They are very delicate. Below are some general rules to keep in mind.
DO’S
- Keep them dry for at least 24 hours. (STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER.) The glue needs time to achieve its maximum bond.
- Keep them clean.
- Maintain your eyelash extension refills regularly. (Preferably every two to three weeks)
- Brush your lashes out when needed.
DON’TS
- Avoid rubbing your eyes or even touching the lashes.
- Do not pull your extensions (IT’S TEMPTING, BUT DO NOT DO IT) as it can damage and pull out your natural eyelashes. You can have them removed anytime you want if it’s gets too uncomfortable.
- Avoid using eyelash curlers.
- Do not use any oily products like primers or serum on your eyes or face.
